Announcements for 05-22-2018

All assigned discipline that has not been served by the end of the school year will carry over to the 2018 - 2019 academic year. Until all discipline has been served in full, some GHS privileges will be suspended, including but not limited to: participation in fall extra-curricular activities, this includes practices as well as competitions; purchasing of parking tags for student of Senior and Junior standing; attendance at any extra-curricular activity to include all sporting and club events.

All high school library books are due Tuesday, May 22. Be sure to locate those missing books and take care of unpaid library fines as soon as possible. Unpaid book fines will carry over to next year if not paid by May 30.

If you have not purchased a parking tag for the 2017/2018 school year you are not permitted to park in the High School parking areas. Please remember that seniors will be returning for finals and will need to continue parking in the lots.

Any student enrolled in either the ENG 101 or AP Lang course next year with Mrs. Brossman should plan on attending a mandatory meeting during ASAP today. Future ENG 101 students will meet in Mrs. Rio's room, and future AP Lang students will meet in Mrs. Brossman's room at that time. She will talk to both groups and explain the summer reading assignments. Please contact your current English teacher if you cannot attend.

Attention boys interested in cross-country. There will be an informational meeting at 7:40 on Wednesday morning. If you cannot make Wednesday morning, there will also be a meeting Thursday after school at 3:15. Both meetings will be in the facility classroom.

Attention gamers - This afternoon's gaming club is cancelled. There will be no more meetings for the rest of the year.

Seniors participating in Baccalaureate on Sunday, May 20th, please remember your caps and gowns will be required to participate in this event.

Reminder to all athletes: Free Athletic physicals will be held Tuesday, May 22nd in the high school commons. Pick up your form now and turn them into Mrs. Rokis by the end of the day on Friday May 18th. Students will not be examined without the form completed with the parent and student signatures. Every athlete will need a current sports physical to participate in a sport during the 2018-2019 school year.

AP Students: Stop by the counseling office to pick up items left after the test. Come get your water bottle, coffee cup, or pencil bag. All items left in the office will be donated next week.

The Geneseo Fire Department is looking for sophomores and juniors to join the Geneseo Junior Firefighter program. You are only required to attend one meeting a week, and your gear is provided as being a part of the program. You will also be eligible for a scholarship in your senior year. If you have an interest in fire safety or want to volunteer in your community, complete the application found on the counseling webpage. Return the application to your high school counselor, and please stop in if you have questions.


All Boys track athletes should attend practice today. Please remember to bring your uniforms.

Mr. Reed will be in the commons on Friday, May 18th from 7:30-7:50am for any girls wanting to sign up for Girls Tennis for the Fall 2018 season. Summer camp information will be available, as well.

Announcements for 05-16-2018

All senior football players please stop by the Athletic Office and pick up your 2017 football season highlight DVD.

Attention Seniors: There will be a senior meeting in the Theatre on Wednesday, May 16 during ASAP. Mr. Mackey will be going over the Senior check out process and the baby picture PowerPoint will be shown. All seniors need to report to the Theatre on Wednesday, May 16 instead of their ASAP class.

Today there will be blood drive honoring Trevor Schefsky for his birthday. The drive will be held at the Geneseo Community Center from 2-6 pm. Please donate if you were not able to our drive in April. Donors who are 16 years old need to have a signed Parental Consent form. Pick up a form from the main office, or see Mrs. Laingen in Room 19. Remember, each blood donation can help 3 patients in need of blood. Help Trevor's family honor him by making a donation.

Attention Boys Cross Country. If you are interested in being a part of next fall's team you need to attend a meeting on Friday, May 18th. The meeting will be held in the health room at 3:05 p.m. The meeting will be brief. If you have any questions please see Mr. Fredericks, who will be running the meeting for Mr. Ehlert.

The last Harry Potter Club meeting of the year will be tomorrow at 3:15 P.M. in room 41.
