Geneseo FFA Launches Podcast, Connections in Corduroy

Geneseo High School FFA members are stepping into the world of podcasting with the launch of their new show, Conversations in Corduroy. This student-led project combines agricultural education with community storytelling, giving members a chance to highlight both their organization and the people who support it.

To prepare, students trained with Larry Lord, Manager of the Performing Arts Center at Geneseo High School, who guided them through the use of professional podcasting equipment and offered tips for speaking with confidence on the microphone.

Each episode of Conversations in Corduroy will feature FFA stories, student perspectives, and interviews with local businesses and community leaders from Geneseo, Atkinson, and the greater Quad Cities area. The goal is to strengthen connections between the school and community while giving students valuable real-world communication experience.

The first episode is already live. In it, FFA officers Dawsyn McDonald and Annabelle Betcher sit down with James Matthews (FFA member) and Alex Snyder to discuss their growing pressure-washing business, WaterWerks.

Listeners can find the podcast on Spotify and YouTube (coming soon), with more episodes planned throughout the year.
