Students from Geneseo High School recently earned recognition at a regional art competition, bringing home dozens of awards, including the event’s top honor.
On April 16, GHS art teachers Sarah Degarmo and Kimberly Windisch accompanied students to the Henry & Stark County Art Show, held at Stark County High School in Toulon. The group returned with 27 ribbons, highlighted by a Best of Show award.
The teachers praised their students’ achievements and winning pieces, now displayed in a case across from the high school’s art rooms, as well as in a window of Windisch’s classroom.
"This is an annual art show that gives our students the opportunity to see the talent in surrounding districts,” said Windisch. “Students leave with inspiration to continue to explore their creativity and improve their skills. We are so proud of our strong art talent at GHS."
"We want to congratulate Serina Nimrick (pictured below) for the award, ‘Best of Show’ two years in a row,” said Degarmo. “GHS has a five-year streak in receiving ‘Best of Show’ for this art festival!”
The following is a list of Geneseo’s ribbon winners. Congratulations to these talented students!
