Geneseo High School’s Class of 2026 graduated on Sunday, May 24, during a commencement ceremony that celebrated the achievements of its senior class with a series of academic honors and special recognitions.
Students were acknowledged for their participation in the National Honor Society, military enlistment, and career pathway endorsements in fields such as CNC manufacturing, education, and agriculture.
Keynote and student addresses focused on the themes of discipline, resilience, and community impact. One speaker highlighted the "Make Your Bed" philosophy, urging graduates to recognize that changing the world begins with the discipline of completing small daily tasks. Students reflected on their journey from kindergarten and encouraged their peers to maintain the "art of dreaming" as they transition into adulthood.
Superintendent Dr. Laura Delgado further emphasized that true success is found in purpose-driven leadership and service to others, reflecting the long-standing tradition of the local community.
The ceremony concluded with the formal certification of the graduates and the distribution of diplomas. Following a tradition of peer recognition, senior class members read the names of their fellow graduates as they crossed the stage. Once all names were called, the students were instructed to move their tassels to the left, officially signifying their transition from students to alumni of Geneseo High School.
Congratulations to our Class of 2026!
