SAL Community Services Early Head Start

SAL Community Services' (SAL) new Early Head Start Child Care Partnership (EHS CCP) provides comprehensive, individualized services to low-income infants and toddlers up to age 4, as well as pregnant mothers and their families living in Henry, Mercer, and Rock Island Counties, Illinois.

Some of the services provided by SAL Community Services Early Head Start CCP:

  • Families receive Early Head Start services right in their own homes!
  • Our EHS Home Based program allows Home Visitors to come once a week and work with parents and their children for a 90-minute session.
  • Together, implementing the “Parents As Teachers” curriculum, Home Visitors and parents plan ways to help the child learn using parent-child interactions, daily routines, and household materials.
  • A small group of children, parents, and the Early Head Start Home Visitors also meet two times per month for group socializations.  This allows the children to practice social skills, participate in group activities such as circle time, use classroom-like materials, and interact with other children.
