Attention Seniors:
Are you interested in giving a speech at graduation? All graduating seniors are eligible to submit a speech for consideration. Two speeches will be chosen by a committee and those students will read their speeches at the graduation ceremony. If your speech makes it to the final round, you will be notified by April 7.
Speeches must meet the following criteria:
200-400 words
typed format with your name on it
The speech does not have to be a particular subject matter but needs to be positive and represent the class of 2023.
Speeches are due to Mrs. Harrington in the Front Office by Monday, April 3 at 3:00 p.m.
Congratulations Student Council:
Congratulations to the following Student Council members who were elected yesterday to the Blackhawk Association of Student Councils Executive board, State-District Liaison, Ava Brewer, Treasurer, Madelyn Mooney, Vice-President, Payton Snider and President Caroline Girten. The new officers will serve for the 2023-24 school year and will represent 26 high schools in the Blackhawk District.
Thank You Blood Donors:
The Student Council would like to thank everyone who donated blood at the blood drive Tuesday. We had 64 donors which is 26 over the goal number for this drive. We are very excited to say this will help save 192 lives. Great job GHS!! You are very much appreciated!!
Chess Club:
Do you like to play chess? Do you want to learn? The GHS Chess Club is coming soon! All GHS students are invited to join — beginners and expert players alike. The first Chess Club meeting will be held after Spring Break on Wednesday, March 29th, at 3:15 p.m. in the library lobby. Make plans now to be there on March 29th!
Gray Matters Student Leaders Meeting:
The Gray Matters Student Leaders will be having a meeting this Friday at 3:00 in Conference Room B. Please see the shared Google agenda if you cannot make the meeting.
Graduation Announcements Pick Up:
Attention Seniors, if you ordered graduation announcements from Herff Jones pick up will be this Friday, March 17 during your lunch period in the GHS Main Lobby.
Attention Seniors:
If you are a senior that will be enlisting in the military after high school, please let Mrs. Harrington in the Front Office know by Friday of this week. Seniors that are enlisting in the military will have a red, white, & blue honors cord to wear at graduation.
Yearbook Orders:
If you have not ordered a copy of the 2022-2023 yearbook yet, you have until the end of March to do so. Please check the lists outside of Mrs. Anton and Mrs. Brewer’s rooms to see if you have ordered AND to get the QR Code to do so if needed.
Circle of Friends Cancelled on Friday:
