Speech Team:
If you would like to learn about the GHS Speech Team, there will be informational meetings Tuesday, September 19. Meet in the library either 7:35-7:55 a.m. or 3:10-3:30 p.m. to hear about possibilities for this upcoming season. See Mrs. Brucher or Mrs. Buysse if you have any questions.
NMSQT Sign Up:
The counseling department is hosting sign-ups for the NMSQT. The NMSQT is a competitive exam for the National Merit Scholarship Program for Juniors only. The exam will be held on Tuesday, October 24th. It is $18 to take the test and payment is due at time of registration. Money and registration are due by the end of the day on Wednesday, September 20.
Basketball Cheerleading Tryouts:
Basketball Cheer Tryout Clinics will be on September 17, 18, and 20th with Tryouts on September 21st. See the flyer outside the Main Office for the link and information about the clinics and tryouts.
College 101 Group:
Are you planning on attending college next year, but still have a lot of questions? Check out the College 101 group! This group is for Seniors who want more information about all things college. Deciding where to apply, picking the right school, how to pay and more! This group will meet in Room 35 every Wednesday, beginning September 20, during WIN for about 8 weeks. If you are interested, please stop by the counseling office to sign up, the deadline is today!
University of Illinois College Visit:
On Monday, September 18th, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign will be visiting Geneseo High School during 7th hour. If you are interested in meeting with University of Illinois, please visit the counseling office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass and confirm the visit will be taking place.
Iowa State University College Visit:
On Tuesday, September 19th, Iowa State University will be visiting Geneseo High School during 7th hour. If you are interested in meeting with Iowa State University, please visit the counseling office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass, and confirm the visit will be taking place.
Aviation Club:
For anyone interested in Aviation Club, there will be an informational meeting about upcoming events in the Library Lobby today during WIN. If you are interested in careers in the aviation industry or becoming a pilot, please come to this meeting.
Special Olympics Volunteers:
Unified Special Olympics bowling is looking for 5 more volunteers to bowl with Special Olympics athletes! Come join in the fun and you can earn Silver Cord hours. Stop into Life Skills classes to find out more information. Needed ASAP!!!

Attention Boys and Girls interested in Bowling: If you are interested in Bowling this Winter there will be an informational meeting with the coaches on Wednesday, September 20th at 3:15 p.m. in the Commons. Please attend.
Homecoming Reminder:
To attend the Homecoming dance you must have all your past due discipline served. You may serve detentions from 7:25 a.m. to 7:55 a.m. in room 13 with Ms. Anderson or from 3:05 p.m. to 3:35 p.m. in room 14 with Ms. Schnowske.
