October Study Hall Release for Juniors and Seniors:
Study Hall release will start on Monday, October 2nd. Students will receive ineligibility notices on Thursday, September 28th and Friday, September 29th. In order to be eligible for Junior and Senior Study Hall release you must clear the following obligations:
- Grades of D+ or higher in all classes
- No 2nd Semester 2023 failed classes
- No unpaid library fines
- No unserved discipline
- Students who have 6th period Study Hall and a 7th period class are not eligible for Study Hall release.
Homecoming Ticket Sales:
The Hollywood Homecoming Dance will take place on Saturday, September 30th from 7:30-10:30 in the big gym. All tickets will be $10 and can be purchased next week, Monday-Wednesday during 6th and 7th hours and before and after school. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Don’t miss this star-studded evening!!
Homecoming Spirit Dress Up Days:
Get your outfits ready for a fun Homecoming Spirit week. Next week, Sept 25th - 29th we will have movie inspired dress up days, join in on the Hollywood Homecoming fun!!
Monday, Sept. 25 – The Breakfast Club-Pajama Day
Tuesday, Sept. 26 – Space Jam- Jersey Day
Wednesday, Sept. 27 – Barbie vs. Ken Day
Thursday, Sept. 28 – Teen Beach Movie- Hawaiian Day
Friday, Sept. 29 – Spirit Day, Green/White, Team - Club Day.
***Students must stay within the school dress code***
Homecoming Discipline Reminder:
To attend the Homecoming dance you must have all your past due discipline served. You may serve detentions from 7:25 a.m. to 7:55 a.m. in room 13 with Ms. Anderson or from 3:05 p.m. to 3:35 p.m. in room 14 with Ms. Schnowske.
Bowling Meeting:
If you are interested in Boys & Girls Bowling this Winter, there will be an informational meeting with the coaches on Wednesday, September 20th at 3:15 p.m. in the Commons. Please attend.
University of Iowa & Southern Illinois Edwardsville Visit:
On Wednesday, September 20th, University of Iowa and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville will be visiting Geneseo High School during 6th and 7th hour. If you are interested in meeting with either University, please visit the counseling office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass, and confirm the visit will be taking place.
NMSQT Sign Up:
The counseling department is hosting sign-ups for the NMSQT. The NMSQT is a competitive exam for the National Merit Scholarship Program for Juniors only. The exam will be held on Tuesday, October 24th. It is $18 to take the test and payment is due at time of registration. Money and registration are due by the end of the day on Wednesday, September 20.
Basketball Cheerleading Tryouts:
Basketball Cheer Tryout Clinics will be on September 17, 18, and 20th with Tryouts on September 21st. See the flyer outside the Main Office for the link and information about the clinics and tryouts.
