Starbooks Café:
September 26th is the last Tuesday of the month, so the GHS Library will be hosting Starbooks Cafe before school. You bring book recommendations and visit with fellow readers, and the library provides hot beverages. All readers are welcome to join us!
Library Closure Today:
The library will be closed during 6th and 7th periods today. (Friday, Sept 22)
Aviation Club:
Today there will be an Aviation Club meeting during WIN. The meeting will be held in the new CTE Building. Please meet in the Library Lobby to walk over. We will be discussing Sunday’s meeting and upcoming events.
Homecoming Election Ballots:
Attention Students: Look for an email today from Mrs. Brewer with the Homecoming election ballots. Please take the time to cast your vote for this year’s Homecoming Court. Ballots will close at 3:00 on Tuesday.
Float Face-Off:
Next week is Homecoming and that means FLOAT FACE-OFF! It’s our float-building frenzy night, and we need all hands on deck. If you are an artist, know how to work with tools, like to craft or build things, this night is for you! It’s Wednesday, September 27th from 4-9 p.m. at the large shed at Richmond Hill. Come for an hour or come and stay all evening. There will be pizza provided throughout the night for all float-builders. Hope to see you there!
Homecoming Spirit Dress Up Days:
The Monday, September 25th dress up day is The Breakfast Club-Pajama Day. Join in on the Hollywood Homecoming fun!! Students must stay within the school dress code.
Monday, Sept. 25 – The Breakfast Club-Pajama Day
Tuesday, Sept. 26 – Space Jam- Jersey Day
Wednesday, Sept. 27 – Barbie vs. Ken Day
Thursday, Sept. 28 – Teen Beach Movie- Hawaiian Day
Friday, Sept. 29 – Spirit Day, Green/White, Team - Club Day.
***Students must stay within the school dress code***
October Study Hall Release for Juniors and Seniors:
Study Hall release will start on Monday, October 2nd. Students will receive ineligibility notices on Thursday, September 28th and Friday, September 29th. In order to be eligible for Junior and Senior Study Hall release you must clear the following obligations:
- Grades of D+ or higher in all classes
- No 2nd Semester 2023 failed classes
- No unpaid library fines
- No unserved discipline
- Students who have 6th period Study Hall and a 7th period class are not eligible for Study Hall release.
Homecoming Ticket Sales:
The Hollywood Homecoming Dance will take place on Saturday, September 30th from 7:30-10:30 in the big gym. All tickets will be $10 and can be purchased next week, Monday-Wednesday during 6th and 7th hours and before and after school. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Don’t miss this star-studded evening!!
Homecoming Discipline Reminder:
To attend the Homecoming dance you must have all your past due discipline served. You may serve detentions from 7:25 a.m. to 7:55 a.m. in room 13 with Ms. Anderson or from 3:05 p.m. to 3:35 p.m. in room 14 with Ms. Schnowske.
