Homecoming Spirit Dress Up Days:
The Friday, September 29th dress up day is Spirit Day - Dress in your green/white and team/club apparel. Join in on the Hollywood Homecoming fun!! Students must stay within the school dress code.
Homecoming Parade:
For all participants in the Homecoming Parade: please arrive at the park around 3:00, there is no need to be any earlier. Listen for instructions and when your vehicle arrives, please proceed and get on your ride. There is to be no candy thrown from any moving vehicle or float. Candy can be handed out by walking alongside of your entry. There is to be no jumping on and off of moving vehicles. Have a great time and enjoy your parade!!
Homecoming Dance Reminder:
Please remember the dance begins at 7:30 p.m. and you must be checked in no later than 8:30 p.m. The Homecoming dance will end at 10:30 p.m., and you may not leave until 9:30 p.m. once checked in. For those having someone pick them up, please remind them to be in the parking lot by 10:30 p.m. Have a great dance!
St. Ambrose College Visit:
On Monday, October 2nd, St. Ambrose University will be visiting Geneseo High School during 7th hour. If you are interested in meeting with St. Ambrose, please visit the counseling office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass, and confirm the visit will be taking place.
Homecoming Ticket Sales:
The Hollywood Homecoming Dance is this Saturday, September 30th from 7:30-10:30 in the big gym. All tickets are $10 and can be purchased this week thru Wednesday during 6th and 7th hours and before and after school. Tickets will also be sold at the door. Don’t miss this star-studded evening!!
Bead Necklaces:
The cafeteria crew will have bead necklaces on Thursday at Breakfast & Lunch. Come for Breakfast and get your beads with your breakfast. Come for lunch and get your beads with your lunch. Come for both and get 2 Beads!! Celebrate Homecoming with Beads!!
Girls Tennis Senior Night:
Girls Tennis Senior Night is October 4th. Please join us to celebrate our 12 seniors as they battle each other in doubles with their favorite teachers! Seniors will be announced at 4:30 p.m. and play will start at 5:00 p.m.
University of Northern Iowa College Visit:
On Thursday, September 28th, the University of Northern Iowa will be visiting Geneseo High School during 6th hour. If you are interested in meeting with UNI, please visit the counseling office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass, and confirm the visit will be taking place.
Homecoming Discipline Reminder:
To attend the Homecoming dance you must have all your past due discipline served. You may serve detentions from 7:25 a.m. to 7:55 a.m. in room 13 with Ms. Anderson or from 3:05 p.m. to 3:35 p.m. in room 14 with Ms. Schnowske.
Picture Retakes:
Picture Retakes will be October 6th during lunch in the Library Lobby loft for freshmen, sophomore, and junior students. Seniors will need to schedule an appointment with Photographic Arts if they want retakes.
October Study Hall Release for Juniors and Seniors:
Study Hall release will start on Monday, October 2nd. Students will receive ineligibility notices on Thursday, September 28th and Friday, September 29th. In order to be eligible for Junior and Senior Study Hall release you must clear the following obligations:
- Grades of D+ or higher in all classes
- No 2nd Semester 2023 failed classes
- No unpaid library fines
- No unserved discipline
- Students who have 6th period Study Hall and a 7th period class are not eligible for Study Hall release.
