Parking:

Senior, Junior, and Sophomore students may register for parking today, at the end of your school day from 2:10 to 3:15 p.m. in the Assistant Principal's office.  Past due discipline must be served.  Your Skyward account will be charged $35 upon a sticker being issued for student parking.  Sophomore students must present their Driver's License in order to be eligible for student parking.


Augustana College Visit:

On Wednesday, October 25th, Augustana College will be visiting Geneseo High School during WIN. If you are interested in meeting with Rachel from Augustana, please visit the counseling office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass and confirm the visit will be taking place.


College 101 Group:

Reminder, the College 101 Group will be meeting today during WIN.  We will be discussing college applications today!  All Seniors who have questions or want to learn more about college applications, come to Room 35, no need to check into WIN first!


Boys Volleyball Game and Toy Drive: 

 Mark your calendars for Thursday, November 9th at 7:00 p.m. for the annual Boys Volleyball Game and Toy Drive. Student Council will be hosting a fundraiser Toy Drive to help benefit foster children through Foster Hope. We will have a Junior vs. Senior Boys Volleyball game and admission is an unwrapped toy. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Don’t miss out on a fun evening and a chance to support Foster Hope. Junior and Senior boys that would like to participate on the volleyball teams must sign up on the registration form that will be emailed to you on Friday, October 27 at the beginning of WIN. The first 15 boys to sign up for each team will get to play. Be sure to attend this awesome cause.


Student Hunger Drive:

Hey GHS, Let's work together for the good of others. This week the Student Council is challenging GHS to “Fill the Can.”  Bring in your non-perishable canned or boxed goods and donate them in the main hall to the Student Hunger Drive Can. Together “WE CAN” make a difference!! All food donations will benefit the Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry.

 

Gymnastics Team: 

The Geneseo High School Girls Gymnastics Team is hosting an OPEN HOUSE for any girls that may want to try gymnastics out to see if they would like to be on this year’s 2023-24 team. It will be at the Geneseo Community Center on Wednesday, October 25 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in the gymnastics room. Please wear workout clothes!  If you have any questions, you may ask Mrs. Ward for more information. The first team practice is Tuesday, November 7 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. The other practices that week are Thursday, November 9 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. and Friday, November 10 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. All of the practices are in the gymnastics gym at the Community Center.


Halloween Movie Night:

All students are invited to a Halloween Movie Night! Join us at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 30th in the Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and admission is 2 - cans of food or any non-perishable food items. The movie being shown is Hocus Pocus.  Students are also encouraged to dress up in a school appropriate Halloween costume.  All food collected will be donated to the Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry. Don’t miss out on a fun movie night!


Gray Matters Gala:

Make sure to get your tickets for the Starry Night Gray Matters Gala on November 4th at the Waterfront Convention Center at 5 o’clock. Be sure to get your tickets by tomorrow, Wednesday October 25th, as tickets will no longer be sold after this date.  You can visit the Gray Matters Instagram and visit the link in the bio to purchase tickets. All proceeds will go to the Fosters Fund which helps supply free counseling to the QC area.  If you are unable to afford the Gala, talk to one of the Gray Matters leaders and we will let the collective know and will take care of it.   


Aisle of Flags:

Are you looking for more Silver Cord hours?  We are in need of students to help put out Flags at City Park for Veterans Day.  Veterans Day is Saturday, November 11.  Flags go up at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday and come down at 2:00 p.m.  Many volunteers are needed.  Sign up in the GHS Front Office if you would like to volunteer for Aisle of Flags.
