Gray Matters Meeting:
On Friday, during WIN, there will be a Gray Matters meeting in the Theatre. We will be talking about giving back to the people/community around us. We can't wait to see you there!
Hat, Mitten, Scarf Collection:
Winter weather is on it's way, so it's time to remember those in need. The Student Council will be holding a hat, mitten and scarf collection. Collection dates will be Monday, December 11 thru Friday, December 15. Bring in new or gently used winter items and you could win a $50 Amazon gift card. For each donated item your name is entered into a raffle to win. Get into the giving spirit and donate before school in front of the main gym.
Writer’s Club Meeting:
The Writer’s Club will be conducting their December meeting after school today in Room 4 from 3:00-4:30 pm. We always welcome new faces!
Christmas Spirit Week:
Be sure to have some holiday fun the last week before break, Student Council is sponsoring a Christmas Spirit Week, December 18-22. Get your outfits ready and join in the fun:
Monday - Pajama Day
Tuesday - Double Denim vs. Groufit
Wednesday - White-Out Wednesday
Thursday - Ugly Christmas Sweater
Friday - Red vs. Green
Upperclassman - Wear Red, Underclassman - Wear Green
Remember, this begins on Monday, December 18.
Door Decorating Contest:
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and time to “Deck the Halls” with a Door Decorating Contest. Each WIN class will decorate their classroom door. Commons and Cafeteria Senior WIN classes will combine and find a place in the Commons or Cafeteria wall or hallway to decorate. The decorating may begin December 11 thru December 15. Judging will be Monday, December 18. And the winning class will get a Hot Chocolate party. Be creative, be festive, use lights and/or music, and have fun.
Dance Marathon 3 Dodgeball Tournament:
The 2nd Annual Dodgeball Tournament to support Dance Marathon 3 will take place on December 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Gym. Teams of 6 are invited to pick up sign up forms and liability waivers from Mr. Kelly’s Room (Room 28) Cost is $5 per person and $30/team. Sign up soon and get your team theme/costumes ready! Remember - Kid’s Can’t Wait!
Seth Ernst Memorial Soccer Slam:
Registration is now OPEN for the 17th annual Seth Ernst Memorial Soccer Slam! Get together with your friends, come up with a creative team uniform, and register soon at https://sethernstsoccerslam.org/registration/
GHS Men play Saturday, February 24th and GHS Women play Sunday, February 25th.For the Love of the Game, join us for a fun-filled day of soccer and amazing sportsmanship!
Silver Cord Volunteer Babysitting Dates:
GHS is hosting Pre-School Family Nights from 5-7 p.m. on November 15th, December 12th, February 8th, and April 15th. Any students wishing to volunteer helping young children with activities and games is encouraged to sign up in the Front Office. Students will be able to earn Silver Cord hours. Please sign up in the Front Office.
