Homecoming Spirit Week:

Let’s dress up for Homecoming Spirit Week!!

Wednesday, Oct. 8 – On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

Thursday, Oct. 9 – Country vs. Country Club

Friday, Oct. 10 – Spirit Day, Green/White, Team - Club Day

Join the fun, but remember, students must stay within the school dress code.

Homecoming Court Elections:

Homecoming Court elections are now open. All students have been emailed a Homecoming ballot from Mrs. Brewer. Please check your email and cast your vote for the 2025 Homecoming Court. The ballots will close at 3:00 p.m. today.  The Homecoming Court will be announced at the Homecoming Pep Rally which will take place on Wednesday evening at the football stadium. 

 

Homecoming Dance:

Plan to attend the Enchanted Forest Homecoming Dance this Saturday, October 11 from 7:30-10:00 pm. Homecoming dance tickets are now on sale, Wednesday before school is your last chance to buy an advanced ticket.  All guest tickets need to be purchased in advance, but GHS students may purchase tickets at the dance. Ticket sales are in the main hall and cost $10 each.

 

Rock, Paper, Scissors:

GHS get ready to show off your rock, paper, scissors skills in our very own spirit week competition! Students will be given beads and instructions in WIN today. The competition will take place today and Wednesday with a final champion crowned at the pep rally on Wednesday night. Check video kiosks and posters for official rules. The number 1 rule is you can not compete during class time! 

 

2025 Football T-Shirts:

The 2025 football t-shirts have been marked down to $10 and will be sold today and Wednesday during lunch in the cafeteria. 

 

Foreign Language Club Members:

Please stop by room 3 today or tomorrow to pick up cards for our very special project! Thank you!

JV Scholastic Bowl Practice:

JV Scholastic Bowl practice is today, after school in room 45 starting at 3:10 p.m. Be on time and we will be done before 4:00 p.m. Let Mrs. Young know if you cannot attend.

 

Attention Students:

For just $1, you can help stick Mr. Ryerson to the wall. Tape pieces will be sold during all lunch periods on Thursday, October 9th so make sure to bring your cash! Don’t miss your chance! All proceeds will go towards Dance Marathon 5, supporting a great cause.

Coffee Corner:

Coffee Corner will be open tomorrow and we will be selling GHS friendship bracelets for $2.00.  We have a limited number of bracelets so make sure to get yours while they last. 

 

Silver Cord Opportunity – Food Pantry:

Looking for a place to complete Silver Cord hours? The Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry is in need of volunteers on Monday evenings, 4:00-7:00 p.m. Please contact Nicole at the Food Pantry, 309-944-3165 or email: geneseopantry1@gmail.com

 

Silver Cord Opportunity – Henry County Humane Society:

The Henry County Humane Society is looking for volunteers! Earn Silver Cord hours while helping animals in need. Applications are available in the Front Office.

There is a list of upcoming volunteer opportunities at the Park District posted on the Announcements bulletin board in the main hallway.  Hours, position details and contact information is included.
