Attention Juniors:
During WIN today, there will be a presentation for all Juniors to discuss the English options you will have for Senior year English. Please report to your WIN for attendance first and then report to the Theatre.
Food Drive:
Who wants some Donuts? Get your 1st hour class going and collect the most canned goods or non-perishable food items this week thru Friday, November 14, and your 1st hour class will win DONUTS!! The competition is intense, so start collecting now. Good Luck and may the BEST 1st hour win!!!
Boys Basketball Tryouts:
Boys Basketball tryouts are today. Freshmen will be at 3:30 PM in the GFAC and is open to all boys interested. Sophomores through Seniors will be at 5:30 PM in the Main Gym and is open to all boys interested. If you plan on trying out, please have your parent attend the parent meeting at 4:30 PM today in the GFAC classroom.
Baseball Meeting:
There will be informational meetings for all Baseball Players Tuesday morning at 7:40 AM and Tuesday afternoon at 2:15 PM in the CTE Center Classroom. If you have a 7th period class you cannot miss class to attend a meeting so please plan accordingly. At these meetings, Coach Bess will be going over the open gym schedule as well as the new lumber yard usage procedure. See you Tuesday.
Foreign Language Club:
On Wednesday, one of our very own members will be giving a presentation on Greece. You won't want to miss it! Hope to see you there!
Change for a Change:
Attention all students: Did you know that water is essential to life and therefore all people should have access to safe, clean, affordable water, no matter where they are and no matter who they are? Spanish 3 students will be collecting spare change this week to donate to Healing Waters International, a program that helps provide clean water to countries around the world! They hope to collect change to make a change. Please donate your spare change today and help save lives! Spanish 3 students will be carrying empty water jugs to collect your change. If you cannot find a Spanish 3 student, feel free to stop by room 3 to drop off your change. Thank you!
Silver Cord Opportunity – Operation Christmas Child:
GHS students are invited to earn silver cord hours at an Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Packing Party. Volunteers will be packing items into shoeboxes that will be sent around the world to share hope with children. It will be held at Kingswood Church (formerly First Methodist) on Friday, November 14, from 4-8pm, and Saturday, November 15, from 9am-2pm. Drop by anytime. It will be held in the south campus building, which is located across the parking lot from the church. Please bring your silver cord timesheet.
Student Reminders:
Reminder for WIN and Study Hall passes - Students must get a pass prior to WIN or Study Hall if they need to go to a different location during that time. Staff will not be writing passes at the start of WIN or Study Hall to leave the room. Staff also will not be allowing passes to their room if they have a sub during that period. Assigned Skills Lab protocols during WIN will remain the same.
Reminder for students with discipline - Students with outstanding discipline must serve before the deadline on the referral. Students with outstanding discipline may be assigned lunch detention until discipline is cleared.
US Air Force Visit:
The US Air Force will be visiting Geneseo High School today during WIN. Please remember to sign up before the visit in the Counseling Office.
Attention Juniors & Seniors:
Juniors or seniors who may be enlisting in the military are invited to meet in the library during WIN time on Tuesdays in December. Mrs. Brucher will be reviewing free materials we have to help you prepare for the ASVAB military service entrance exam. Sign up in the library or the counseling office to be sure you receive a pass to leave your WIN and attend the December meetings.
Silver Cord Opportunity – Food Pantry:
