Student Council is sponsoring a Spirit Week the week before break, December 15-19. Get your outfits ready and participate in this fun week of dress up days.
Monday, December 15 – Pajama Day
Tuesday, December 16 – Ugly Christmas Sweater Day
Wednesday, December 17 – Holiday Hat or Stocking Cap Day
Thursday, December 18 – Christmas Movie Character Day
Friday, December 19 – Santa vs. Grinch (Wear Red or Green Day)
This is a reminder that you must abide by the GHS dress code.
Hat, Mitten, Scarf Collection:
Winter weather is on its way, so it's time to remember those in need. The Student Council will be holding a hat, mitten and scarf collection thru Friday, December 12. Bring in new or gently used winter items and you could win a $50 Amazon gift card. For each donated item your name is entered into a raffle to win. Get into the giving spirit and donate before school in front of the office.
Volley Tennis Sign Up:
GHS Dance marathon is hosting a volley tennis tournament on Monday, December 15th. Sign up using the QR codes posted around the school in teams of 4-5 people. Cost is $5 per person and you can pay at the event. Sign up by Friday the 12th, we look forward to seeing you there!
Dance Marathon – Culver’s Night:
Hey GHS! Mark your calendars for this Tuesday, December 9th, because it’s time for Dance Marathon Share Night at Culver’s! From 5 to 8 p.m., come enjoy your favorite burgers, fries, and custard while supporting a great cause. A portion of the night’s proceeds will go directly to GHS Dance Marathon, which raises money for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City. Again, that’s Tuesday, December 9th at Culver’s — we’ll see you there for a fun night of food, friends, and fundraising for the kids!
Deck the Halls Contest:
The “Deck the Halls” Door Decorating Contest goes thru December 10. Judging will be Monday, December 15. Be creative, be festive, use lights and/or music, and have fun.
Soccer Slam:
Registration is OPEN for the 19th annual Seth Ernst Memorial Soccer Slam! GHS Men's and Women's Teams play on Sunday, February 1st with a sign-up deadline of January 9th. sethernstsoccerslam.org/registration/
