GHS hosts 4th annual Job Fair and Career Expo

Geneseo High School welcomed more than 60 local businesses and organizations on Friday for its fourth annual Job Fair and Career Expo.

Hosted at the Geneseo Foundation Activity Center, the event provided students with the opportunity to explore a broad range of career pathways and employment options. Representatives shared information on internships, job-shadowing experiences, and the education and training required for various professions.

“Whether you’re a senior or a freshman, this is one way we can help bridge the gap between education and the workforce,” said the event organizer, Travis Mackey. “We hope that it gives students a better understanding of the many opportunities available to them, what type of work they may someday be interested in, and the steps they can take to pursue those kinds of opportunities.”

All of the high school’s Career Pathways were represented, including Business, Marketing and Computers; Agricultural Education; Family and Consumer Science; Technology, Construction and Engineering; and Health Sciences.

Geneseo High School extends its appreciation to the participating companies, as well as to the counseling department, faculty, and administration for their efforts in making this year’s event a success.
