Graduation Speeches:
Attention Seniors: Are you interested in giving a speech at graduation? All graduating seniors are eligible to submit a speech for consideration. Speeches will be chosen by a committee and those students will read their speeches at the graduation ceremony. If your speech makes it to the final round, you will be notified by April 1st. Those students that make it to the final round will present their speeches to the committee during WIN on April 7.
Speeches must meet the following criteria:
200-400 words
typed format with your name on it
The speech does not have to be a particular subject matter but needs to be positive and represent the class of 2026
Speeches are due in the Front Office by Monday, March 30 at 3:00 p.m.
Seniors Enlisting in the Military:
If you are a Senior who is enlisting in the military after graduation, please stop down to the Front Office and let Mrs. Harrington know. Seniors who are entering the military will earn a red, white, and blue cord to wear at graduation.
Blood Drive:
The results for the annual blood drive are in. Our school collected 50 units of blood, resulting in saving 150 lives. We had an amazing turnout and appreciate all donors. A special shoutout to Student Council for planning a very successful blood drive.
BASC Convention:
The Student Council recently attended the 41st Annual Blackhawk Association of Student Councils District Convention. Newly elected Executive Board members are Secretary, Jasmine Foss, Treasurer, Grace Carlson, and District-State Liaison, Mickayla Bowles. Congratulations to these student leaders.
St. Ambrose Visit:
On Thursday, March 12th, St. Ambrose University will be visiting Geneseo High School during 7th period. If you are interested in meeting with St. Ambrose University, please visit the Counseling Office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass, and confirm the visit will be taking place.
STRIVE:
There is a STRIVE meeting tomorrow for Seniors who have been invited. Our location has been changed to the Front Office during WIN.
Augustana College Visit:
Augustana College will be visiting Geneseo High School today during 6th period. Please remember to sign up before the visit in the Counseling Office.
Prom Guest Forms:
Attention Juniors and Seniors - Prom is scheduled for May 9th. If you would like to bring a guest who is not a current GHS student, please complete the Prom Guest Form and submit it for approval. The deadline to turn in the form is Monday, April 13th. Please read the form carefully to be certain you are aware of the guest requirements. All additional paperwork and verifications must be submitted with the form. The forms, printed on pink paper, are available outside of the Assistant Principals' office.
Loras College Visit:
On Tuesday, March 10th, Loras College will be visiting Geneseo High School during WIN. If you are interested in meeting with Loras College, please visit the Counseling Office for more details and to sign up. You must sign up before to obtain a pass, and confirm the visit will be taking place.
Foreign Language Club:
Save the date! One of our very own members will be presenting on ASL on Wednesday, March 11th! Hope to see you there! You won’t want to miss it!
Silver Cord Opportunity – Park District:
Volunteer opportunities with the Geneseo Park District are listed on the Announcements Board in the hall outside the Front Office.
Silver Cord Opportunity – Food Pantry:

Silver Cord Opportunity – Henry County Humane Society:
The Henry County Humane Society is looking for volunteers! Earn Silver Cord hours while helping animals in need. Applications are available on the Henry County Humane Society website.
