After School Detention Today:
After School Detention today has been cancelled. There will be no detention after school today.
Butter Braid Pick-Up:
Attention Sophomore Class - Butter Braid delivery is today from 3:00 -5:00 pm in the front office lobby area. You can pick up your Butter Braid orders right after school or have your parents come and pick-up until 5:00 pm. Remember the Butter Braids need to remain frozen until delivered to your customers. See Mrs. Brewer, Mrs. Laingen or Ms. Schnowske with any questions.
Graduation Speeches:
Attention Seniors: Are you interested in giving a speech at graduation? All graduating seniors are eligible to submit a speech for consideration. Speeches will be chosen by a committee and those students will read their speeches at the graduation ceremony. If your speech makes it to the final round, you will be notified by April 1st. Those students that make it to the final round will present their speeches to the committee during WIN on April 7.
Speeches must meet the following criteria:
200-400 words
typed format with your name on it
The speech does not have to be a particular subject matter but needs to be positive and represent the class of 2026
Speeches are due in the Front Office by Monday, March 30 at 3:00 p.m.
Seniors Enlisting in the Military:
If you are a Senior who is enlisting in the military after graduation, please stop down to the Front Office and let Mrs. Harrington know. Seniors who are entering the military will earn a red, white, and blue cord to wear at graduation.
Journalism Club:
Journalism Club will meet today from 3-3:30 in Mrs. Ritchie's room.
Special Olympics Donation:
Thanks to all that have donated to Special Olympics. We are currently at $292.33 raised earning phones during a WIN when we come back from break and teachers will be able to leave one day once students are gone. Also you might notice a few teachers and admin rocking a wig today. Keep the donations coming, we are very close to singing karaoke at lunch and a teachers jeans week!
Senior Open Campus Lunch:
The next Open Campus Lunch opportunity will be this Friday, March 13th!
To qualify, you need to have a grade of C- or higher in all classes, no unpaid library fines, and no outstanding discipline. Eligibility notices will be distributed on Friday morning. Students who qualify will have additional time for lunch. If you receive a notice, please be sure to read it for your exact departure and return times.
St. Ambrose Visit:
St. Ambrose University will be visiting Geneseo High School today during 7th period. Please remember to sign up before the visit in the Counseling Office.
Silver Cord Opportunity – Geneseo Country Club:
There is a volunteer opportunity with the Geneseo Country Club doing general course clean/spruce up during spring break. It is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, March 19 weather permitting. Contact the Geneseo Country Club - Carmen at (309) 944-3666 or Dan at (309) 749-8432.
Yearbook Orders:
The end of this month is the last chance to order a yearbook for the 2025-2026 school year. Check the lists and ordering information outside of Mrs. Anton (17) and Mrs. Brewer (26) rooms.
Prom Guest Forms:
Attention Juniors and Seniors - Prom is scheduled for May 9th. If you would like to bring a guest who is not a current GHS student, please complete the Prom Guest Form and submit it for approval. The deadline to turn in the form is Monday, April 13th. Please read the form carefully to be certain you are aware of the guest requirements. All additional paperwork and verifications must be submitted with the form. The forms, printed on pink paper, are available outside of the Assistant Principals' office.
Silver Cord Opportunity – Park District:
Volunteer opportunities with the Geneseo Park District are listed on the Announcements Board in the hall outside the Front Office.
