Read for a Lifetime:
This is the final week to complete Read for a Lifetime responses for the library reading program. The final day to complete your 4 responses is Monday, April 6. See Mrs. Brucher if you have any questions.
Foreign Language Club:
Our next meeting is Wednesday, April 1st at 3:00 pm in room 3. One of our very own members will be presenting on Puerto Rico. You won't want to miss it! Hope to see you there!
Lunch Detentions:
If you are serving lunch detentions, be sure you sign in with your first and last name. If you do not legibly print your full name out, you will not be given credit for the time served.
Junior and Senior April Study Hall Release:
Junior and Senior April Study Hall release will begin on Wednesday, April 1st. Students who are required to stay will receive notices. If you do not receive a notice, you do not have to report to Study Hall. Please check the announcement board outside the Front Office for more info.
Graduation Speeches:
Attention Seniors: Are you interested in giving a speech at graduation? All graduating seniors are eligible to submit a speech for consideration. Speeches will be chosen by a committee and those students will read their speeches at the graduation ceremony. If your speech makes it to the final round, you will be notified by April 1st. Those students that make it to the final round will present their speeches to the committee during WIN on April 7.
Speeches must meet the following criteria:
· 200-400 words
· typed format with your name on it
· The speech does not have to be a particular subject matter but needs to be positive and represent the class of 2026
Speeches are due in the Front Office by Monday, March 30 at 3:00 p.m.
Prom Guest Forms:
Attention Juniors and Seniors - Prom is scheduled for May 9th. If you would like to bring a guest who is not a current GHS student, please complete the Prom Guest Form and submit it for approval. The deadline to turn in the form is Monday, April 13th. Please read the form carefully to be certain you are aware of the guest requirements. All additional paperwork and verifications must be submitted with the form. The forms, printed on pink paper, are available outside of the Assistant Principals' office.
Link Crew:
Are you interested in joining Link Crew? Link Crew is a program that helps students transition to high school. If you are a Sophomore or Junior you are eligible to apply for Link Crew. Reminder, current members of Link Crew MUST reapply for next year. We are looking for dependable students who are positive role models at GHS. It is easy to apply, simply scan one of the QR codes that is posted on flyers around the school. Applications must be completed by Thursday April 2nd at Midnight!
Silver Cord Opportunity – Park District:
Volunteer opportunities with the Geneseo Park District are listed on the Announcements Board in the hall outside the Front Office.
Silver Cord Opportunity – Food Pantry:
Looking for a place to complete Silver Cord hours? The Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry is in need of volunteers on Monday evenings, 4:00-7:00 p.m. Please contact Nicole at the Food Pantry, 309-944-3165 or email: geneseopantry1@gmail.com
Silver Cord Opportunity – Henry County Humane Society:
The Henry County Humane Society is looking for volunteers! Earn Silver Cord hours while helping animals in need. Applications are available on the Henry County Humane Society website.
