Senior WIN Meeting:
There will be a meeting today for all Seniors during WIN in the Theatre. Report to your WIN teacher first for attendance and you will go as a class to the Theatre for the meeting.
Freshman Class Officer Petitions:
Attention Freshmen: Would you like to be your Class President, Vice-President, Secretary, or Treasurer for the 2026-27 school year? Class Officer petitions are now available. Pick one up from Mrs. Laingen in Room 19 or Mrs. Brewer in Room 26. All petitions need 25 signatures, a signed contract, and must be returned by Wednesday, August 19. Candidates will be placed on a ballot for a class election. Class officers are members of the Student Council and are expected to fulfill all membership duties.
Scholastic Bowl:
Love trivia? Do your friends ever say, “How did you know that?!” Join Scholastic Bowl!! See or email Mrs. Brossman in room 4 or Mrs. Young in room 45 for more information about this fun IHSA-sanctioned extracurricular activity soon.
Foreign Language Club:
Attention all students interested in joining the Foreign Language Club: Please come to room 3 today, tomorrow, or Wednesday to pick up a calendar for the year and to sign up on our roster. Have any questions? See Mrs. Lindberg in room 3. Thank you!
The BRIDGE:
Were you interested in Unified PE, but it did not work in your schedule? Are you motivated to build connections with all students at GHS? Would you like to help plan activities for the school about inclusion and respect? Check out the new student-led activity, The BRIDGE - Building Relationships for Inclusion, Diversity, and Growth in Education. Contact Mrs. Easley, Room 8, for additional information.
Homecoming Guest Forms:
Guest Verification forms for the Homecoming Dance are available outside the Assistant Principals' office or in the Front Office. These will be due to the Assistant Principals' office no later than Thursday, August 27 at 3:00 pm. There will not be any exceptions to the deadline.
Fall Play:
This year’s fall play is “Parents Just Don’t Understand.” It is a good comedy. There will be meetings for all students interested in getting involved in the show, as follows: Today (Monday, August 17) at 3:15 to 3:45 pm for all students interested in working backstage on one of the crews; Today (Monday, August 17) at 3:45 to 4:15 pm for all students interested in auditioning for the show. Both meetings will be in the DePauw Theatre. All interested students are encouraged to attend.
Bowling Clinic:
There is a High School Pre-Season Instructional Bowling Clinic on August 19 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Arcadia Family Fun Center, price is $15. Bowling open gyms will take place on Wednesdays for three weeks beginning on Wednesday, August 26 from 3:30 to 5:00 pm and will end on September 9. If you have questions, stop by the Athletic Office for the coaches’ email addresses.
Student Parking:
Students may park in the West lot, with the exception of the front row, students may also park in the facility lot with the exception of the 5 spaces facing north/south as you pull into the lot. Students may not park on State Street in front of the school or in the South lot. If you have any questions regarding if you are parking correctly, please stop by the Assistant Principal's office.
