Students interested in GMS wrestling are reminded that the season has started. Practice will be after school in the multi-purpose room from 3:30 to 5:30 every day unless there is a meet.
Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student interested in joining the Scholastic Bowl Team is invited to a meeting on Wednesday, December 13th at 7:40 a.m. in Mrs. Francque’s classroom, Room 812. If you are unable to attend the meeting, but are interested in joining, please contact Mrs. Francque or Mrs. Scheider.
This year’s spelling bee will take place on December 22nd in the Large Group Room beginning at 8:30 a.m. for any 8th grade student interested in competing. 8th grade students who choose to participate in the spelling bee are required to see Mrs. Plant or Mrs. Francque by December 15th to sign up. Only 8th grade students who have ‘pre-registered’ by December 15th may compete in the bee.
Attention Hoops Fans: Our A's traveled to Rock Island last night to take on the Washington Warriors and they proved to be pretty fierce. Our 7's struggled but showed progress and better understanding but fell victim to the warriors. Our 8's started off hot and played one of their best quarters of the year winning the 1st quarter but the Warriors got the last laugh and pulled away as the game went on completing the sweep of our Maple Leafs. Our 8B's will be in action tonight and our A's will be home Thursday. Good luck, guys!
