Congratulations to the following 8th grade House 1 S.T.R.I.P.E.S award winners for the month of January: Sophia Snell, Peyton Woodruff, and Micah Nicke.  These students display qualities of service, tenacity, respect, involvement, perseverance, enthusiasm, and spirit. Your teachers appreciate your efforts to continuously display these qualities. Keep up the GRRREAT work!

Attention all 7th and 8th grade students:  Track and Field season is starting soon!  If you are interested in joining the track and field teams, check your email.  Coach Ehlert has sent out a letter with a Google Form sign up link.  Your parents have been emailed this information as well.

Practices will begin Monday, March 4th.  If you have any questions, you can ask any of the coaches: Mr. Ehlert, Mrs. Gillespie, Mr. Monier, Mrs. Wagner, Mr. Mathew, Mrs. Puls or Mr. Babcock.

The girls 7th grade B team traveled to Jordan for some Monday night mayhem. The team started with a 6-0 lead and the Jaguars were never able to catch up. The final score of 20-12 puts the team on a winning streak. The 8th grade B team heads to Hampton on Thursday.

Attention Hoops Fans: Our A's defended the home court last night against the visiting Glenview Gators. We caged them up and ran away to two convincing victories with contributions from all of our Lady Leafs! Great job girls. The A's will be home Thursday and our B's will be visiting the Hampton Hawks. Good luck Leafs!

Last week’s challenge puzzles were indeed challenging!  Eighth graders Brycen Fahnestock and Jackson Frank are two of this week’s lucky prize winners with correct answers to the blue and green Sudokus. Moving on to the pink “What day was yesterday?" puzzle… The most popular answer was Christmas, and although your cleverness is much appreciated if you wrote that answer, 6th grader James Sutherland and a handful of other GMS students came up with the correct answer of WEDNESDAY. The vowels were the key to solving that puzzle. An explanation is posted in the cafeteria if you are curious.  Finally, last week’s logic puzzle proved to be more difficult than past weeks with only two correct answers submitted. Once again congrats to 6th graders Ella Johnson and Dryden Stokes for figuring out that Buttercup ate her cranberries in the closet. Winners please head to Mrs. Wagner’s room after announcements to pick up your prize. Thanks to all who submitted answers last week. There are still three days to complete this week’s puzzles. Good luck!

Can you say Avocado? 8th grader Katherine Barickman can. Make sure you sign up online for Jump rope for heart before February 12 to take the impossible avocado shot at lunch. If you have a question, ask Mr. Reed.
