8th grade students have an opportunity to travel to Washington DC in June of 2025.  An informational meeting will be held virtually for parents on September 15th.  Pick up a flyer at the middle school office window or in your History class.  

We are looking for amazing people to be part of our GMS Yearbook Staff.  Applications are due this Tuesday so don't wait.  Pick up an application from the main office, fill it out, get your teacher signatures and turn it in.  We need your awesomeness on our team.  Turn in that application today!

Attention all students interested in speech: Stop by Mrs. Haars room to grab an introduction to speech paper and join the speech Google Classroom. If you already joined, come to her room before school to look through speeches and choose the right one for you. You need to pick a speech by Sept. 11.

The Greens Volleyball team invites fans to attend tonight’s game and wear Green in support of the team.

On Saturday GMS Softball traveled to Brimfield and got a pair of wins.  In game one Brenna Dykstra got the win in the circle only giving up one hit.  Karoline Hassan was strong behind the plate and at bat going 4 for 4.  Final score was 18-3. In game two the girls won 15-0.  Faith Schafer went 3 for 3.  Sophia Urquiza and Charley Courson combined for the shutout on the mound.  GMS Softball ends regular season 8-0-1 and will begin regionals on Saturday in East Peoria.

Congratulations to the following 8th grade House 1 S.T.R.I.P.E.S award winners for the month of September:  Khloe VonHolten, Charlize Wachtel, and Wyatt Mickley.  These students display qualities of service, tenacity, respect, involvement, perseverance, enthusiasm, and spirit. There are no assessments today for 6th and 7th grade band students.  6th grade students should bring a pencil and a book to read to class today. 7th grade students will be rehearsing with instruments.
