Any 8th grade girls interested in playing basketball at the high school next year should plan on attending a short meeting this Thursday, May 8th in Mr. Pardoe's room at 7:45 AM.  We will discuss summer basketball opportunities, summer Summit, and more important information.

The GMS Yearbook staff will have our end-of-year party on Tuesday, May 13th after school until 4:30pm.  Please inform an advisor if you plan to attend.

The GMS counselors want you to know that May is Mental Health Awareness month and will be sharing facts with you.  Mental health is the well-being of our minds.  It includes being able to enjoy things, handle hard situations, communicate with others, and feel good about ourselves.  If you are struggling with your mental health, one way to cope is to seek out support from someone who will listen.  You have lots of support right here at GMS.

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we are celebrating two incredible educators who have made a lasting impact on GMS — Mrs. Deb Wagner, with 26 years of teaching, and Mr. Pat Mitchell, with 28 years of teaching. Together, they have dedicated 54 years to inspiring students, shaping young minds, and pouring their love of teaching into everything they do. The countless lives they have touched through their hard work, kindness, and passion is something we are so grateful for. To celebrate their amazing careers and upcoming retirements, we’re kicking off a fun activity this week! Each day this week throughout GMS, there will be pictures of Mrs. Wagner and Mr. Mitchell hidden around the school — one picture for every year they have taught (that’s 54 pictures!). If you find a picture, bring it to Officer Marquez or one of the supervisors during lunch to claim a prize. Let’s honor these two incredible teachers by joining in the fun and showing our appreciation. Happy retirement, Mrs. Wagner and Mr. Mitchell! We wish you both all the best in your next adventures!
