Attention 8th graders!  Are you interested in joining FFA your Freshman year? Please stop by the office and pick up an information sheet.

Students who are attending College for Kids and need transportation are welcome to pick up a Pink's bus form in the counseling office. 

May is Mental Health Awareness month.  Here are some questions to help prioritize your mental health.  When was the last time you put your phone away completely? Have you made time for at least 5 minutes of movement today? How often do you take a moment to appreciate the little things in life? Have a great week and take care of yourself. 

Attention current 7th and 8th grade Boys basketball players: The freshmen basketball coach, Coach Jarron Nordstrom, would like to meet with you this Thursday morning at 7:45 in Coach Monier's room to share information on summer basketball opportunities. If you can't attend the meeting, please see Coach Monier. Again, this is for current 7th and 8th grade boys interested in playing basketball. See you Thursday.

Any 6th and 7th grade girls interested in playing volleyball next year should come to room 711 in the 7th grade hall on TUESDAY May 20th @ 3 pm for a quick meeting. 

Congratulations to the following 8th grade House 1 S.T.R.I.P.E.S award winners for the month of May: Kinglesy Lin, Lili Marshall, and  Allie Tice. These students display qualities of service, tenacity, respect, involvement, perseverance, enthusiasm, and spirit.  Your teachers appreciate your efforts to continuously display these qualities. The Geneseo Library Writing Club is meeting this Tuesday at the Geneseo Library from 3:30-4:30. We will be sharing our writing and the play. Families are welcome to come to see the play at 4:00.

Students, please check at home and in your locker for any library books you may have.  All Library books are due on Wednesday

Congrats to the GMS track and field team on an awesome day Saturday at the IESA Sectional meet. Out of 16 teams competing,  we won the 8th grade girls division, placed 2nd in the 7th grade girls and 7th grade boys divisions, and placed 3rd in the 8th grade boys division.  We had amazing performances by all of our athletes, and everyone contributed to our team totals.

Congratulations to Mark Shoemaker for breaking the 8th grade boys long jump record with a leap of 19 feet and half of an inch!

If you are on a waiting list to get a yearbook and have been contacted, you have until Wednesday to pick it up.  If you would like to purchase a yearbook, there is a limited supply in the front office.  The cost is $35 payable with cash or check.
