The GMS office has sporting event passes for sale. Student passes are $10 and adult passes are $20. Passes are good for middle school sporting events throughout the school year, not including IESA sanctioned events.
Student Council is looking for motivated 7th & 8th graders to represent your first period class this year. Applications for this year's classroom elections can be found on the Student Council website or picked up in the library. See Mrs. Brucher, Mrs. Strohm, or your first hour teacher if you have any questions.
The GMS Birthday Club loves celebrating all of our amazing students and staff! Here’s a little info:
This is a volunteer group that decorates lockers on your birthday. If your birthday falls on a weekend, don’t worry—we’ll celebrate on Friday! And for all of our summer birthdays and early August Birthdays, you’ll get a special celebration on your half-birthday. Please remember to leave decorations up—the Birthday Club will take them down the next day after your birthday. If we ever miss something, just let your homeroom teacher know so we can fix it right away. Birthdays will also be posted on the hallway calendars and the scrolling announcements very soon, so keep an eye out! Have a fantastic day, GMS—happy birthday to everyone celebrating this month!
GMS softball started out cold on Saturday, falling behind 0-6 by the second inning. But in the 5th, the bats got HOT when Natalie Smith singled to right field, driving in two runs. In the 6th, Mara Castro doubled to cut the deficit to 4-6, and in the 7th, Elia Patikowski doubled to score another run. Sophia Gluck then moved pinch runner Kinsley Gripp to third, and Alivia Gaines delivered a clutch single to tie the game at 6-6.
In the 8th, Canton added three more runs to go up 9-6, but GMS wasn’t done. Jaela Minnaert and Natalia singled, and pinch hitter Jayden Kelly-Leach drew a walk to load the bases. Although Jaela was picked off at third, Lily Fritz followed with a double to score two, making it 8-9. Gluck then singled to bring Fritz home and tie the game 9-9.
Pinch runner Peyton Wexell came in, and once again it was Alivia Gaines in a pressure spot. She came through with a walk-off triple, sealing a thrilling 10-9 GMS victory! Samantha Minnaert Youcum earned the Win in the circle with 3 strikeouts, two walks, and four earned runs. Great job ladies!
