The 8th grade football team is looking for managers. If any 8th graders are interested, please talk to Mr. Mathew or Mr. Puls for more information.
Attention 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys and girls interested in basketball. The Geneseo Basketball Association, or GBA, will have off-season open gyms every Sunday from 1:00-3:00 PM in the GFAC. These are optional but a great chance for you to improve your skills, get a basketball in your hand, and hang out with friends. You can be there for parts of the session, or all of the session, and if you only make some that is okay too. If you would like to get a copy of this GBA open gym calendar, please grab one from Coach Monier in room #602 any time this fall. Now, this part is only for 6th grade boys and 6th girls interested in the GBA Fall League. If you are interested in being on a team for the fall league, grab a slip from Coach Monier or scan the code posted in the 6th grade hallway or locker room and share with your parents. Thanks and Go Leafs!
The GMS softball team had a strong showing against the Central Lady Steamers, winning 18-1 in four innings in Game One. Mara Castro also pitched, giving up no hits or runs and striking out one. Offensively, Lilly Fritz added three hits, including a double, and drove in five RBIs. In Game Two, GMS rolled to another big win, 15-1. Harper Peters dominated in the circle, giving up only one hit and one unearned run, striking out six and walking just one. Shae Robertson drove in two RBIs, while Sienna Temperley, Samantha Minnaert-Yocum, Kynlee Adam, Charley Spindel, and Beau each collected hits to help secure the victory. GMS is now 6-0.
Last night the XC team kicked off their season at Richmond Hill with our “rust buster” time trial! Our athletes completed a hilly, one mile run and ran amazing! Our top boy finishers were Will Ehlert, Kyle Wirth, & Henry Woodward. The top girl finishers were Regann Lopez, Breckyn Granell, & Keira Schultz. ALL of our athletes finished their hilly mile time in UNDER 10 minutes, which we believe is a first - way to go, Leafs! The XC team will have their first official 2 mile race next week at the Moline Invite.
