“Last Friday the Leafs traveled across the river to compete in the PV Invite. This is a very competitive meet, as the Iowa schools always have great teams! The boys were runner-ups by only 5 points to a very good PV team! Medaling for the boys are Will Ehlert (3rd), Kyle Wirth (6th), Henry Woodward (8th), and Drake Burton (10th). The girls finished 8th as a team and almost every runner had a personal best - way to go to all of our runners! This week the Leafs have a meet at Glenview and Sterling - good luck to everyone competing!

It was a rocky start for GMS on Saturday morning, falling behind 0-2 early in the game. Alivia Gaines sparked the offense with a double and was brought home by Lillian Fritz, cutting the deficit to 1-2 in the first inning. GMS took control in the bottom of the second inning, jumping ahead 5-2. Gaines delivered again with a double to center field, scoring two runs. Jaela Minnaert followed with a single to right, driving in two more. Harper Peters and Samantha Minnaert-Yocum also added doubles to the offensive surge. Jaela Minnaert led the team with 3 RBIs. The game ended in a 15-5 win, and Samantha Minnaert-Yocum earned another victory in the circle.  GMS finished the regular season with an undefeated 10-0 record. GMS clinched the #1 seed in regionals and will play Wednesday in Canton at 4:30 PM.

The 8th Grade Football Team traveled to Davenport on Saturday to take on Assumption. The defense played its best game of the year by gang tackling, forcing turnovers, and scoring on a pick 6. Geneseo won 32 to 8. The boys head to Glenview on Wednesday for their next game.
