The library will be hosting a Teen Read Cafe before school on Wednesday, Oct. 1. We will have donuts and talk about your right to read. The number of free tickets is limited, so you must pick up a ticket in the library this week if you want to attend. See Mrs. Brucher or Mrs. Sager if you have any questions.

Congratulations to the following 8th grade House 2 September Students of the Month:  Elle Patterson, Brett Correa, and Olivia Krause.  These students are prepared, respectful, involved, dependable and enthusiastic and the 8th grade teachers appreciate their efforts.  Keep up the great work!

Attention 7th and 8th grade boys interested in playing GMS basketball. Our season will tip off with practices beginning Tuesday, October 14th. This week, in your PE and Health classes, we would like for you to sign up if you wish to play. In order to practice, you must have a sports physical on file here at GMS. You will also need a separate pair of basketball only shoes. There is an early season schedule posted in the boys locker room. If you need a copy or have any questions, please see Coach Monier in room #602. Go Leafs!

The 7th grade Greens volleyball team were wishing Washington would want to wash away easily but they put up a good fight, it was quite a game to watch. We had very close games but were not able to come away with the big W. That being said, we played some amazing volleyball with hustle (sometimes even too much) and worked together like a team.  Top servers in this game were Gwen Grimes, Savanna Desplinter, Aaliyah Medina, Amelia Shannon, Charley Spindel, Lilah Ruby and Remi  Rahmus. Working hard at the net was Aaliyah and Amelia with Hilynn Krider getting a couple big Tips! Some awesome digs from Shae Robertson and Grace Feely!  We are home on Thursday again!

The 8th grade greens volleyball team WON against Washington in three, nail-biting sets! Lilly Fritz led with 6 aces, Alivia Gaines had 9 attacks, and Jaela Minnaert and Aislyn Kane combined for a total of 25 assists. Great job, and good luck against Colona tonight!

Finishing in the Top 10 in the varsity races were Breckyn Granell (4th), Zania Sefton (5th), Regann Lopez (6th), Keira Schultz (7th), Audrey Mance (8th), Kyle Wirth (1st), Henry Woodward (4th), Drake Burton (8th), & Will Ehlert (9th). Finishing in the top 10 in the open races were Lenna Bolme (2nd), Camryn Hawkins (3rd), Ava Jolly (7th), Braeden Bunce (1st), Easton Patterson (2nd), Vincent Thurman (4th), Hunter Olson (5th), Levi Skinner (6th), and Holden Minnaert (9th). Great job to all athletes!! The Leafs will be hosting the Conference meet next Wednesday - this is your last chance to come watch all of these amazing runners at home! Please come out & support the team!
