Attention 7th and 8th grade boys interested in playing GMS basketball. Our season will tip off with practices beginning Tuesday, October 14th. You can sign up this week in your PE and Health classes, In order to practice, you must have a sports physical on file here at GMS. You will also need a separate pair of basketball only shoes. Last night the 7th grade Green Volleyball team traveled the looooonnnnnngggggg drive to Colona and unfortunately we were not able to get a win but we walked away with 1 out of 3. We also will take a moment to comment on their amazing concession stand... hotdogs, pretzels, boneless wings and let’s not forget the PICKLES! But let’s get to the important parts. We had some really amazing team plays: Gwen and Savanna had amazing assists to our front row, with Beau, Aaliyah, Amelia and Hailynn getting some kills. Our B-K's were on point with 8 players getting at least one each, and our serves were hitting their spots. Tonight we are taking on Wilson, so come cheer us on as we Wish Wilson Well on their Way home WithOUT the WIN because no balls will be hitting the ground!
The 7th Grade Whites Volleyball team travelled to Washington last night, and won in three sets! The girls did an AMAZING job of battling through some tough servers and working together as a team! The girls had some great plays and saves! Special shoutout to Sophia Vroman for 6 amazing attacks, with assists from Aubrey DeGrave! Great work to the whole team! Come cheer the girls on at their home game next Monday at home against Edison starting at 4!
The 8th grade greens volleyball team won in three sets last night against Colona, 25-21, 15-25, and finally 15-7. Lilly Fritz led the team with 9 aces, Aislyn Kane, Jaela Minnaert, and Alivia Gaines led with 8 attacks each, and Jocelynn Matthews and Mylee Sims both had 6 digs each. Great game, and good luck at home tonight ladies!
