Students interested in learning about GMS Chess Club should plan to attend an informational meeting tomorrow in the library from 3:15-4:00.  Practices begin on Tuesday, October 28th.

The next GMS yearbook staff meeting will be today after school until 4:30pm.  Please let an advisor know if you cannot attend!

Congratulations to our October Student Athletes of the month: Samantha Minnaert-Yocum & Henry Woodward!  Your coaches and teachers recognize all your hard work and effort on the team and in class! Everyone at GMS is proud of you!  Way to go!

Tomorrow morning, the On the Same Page reading team will meet in the library to select this year's book. We will be voting between Not Nothing, Final Season, and What Happened to Rachel Riley. OSP still welcomes readers who would like to help select and promote this year's community-wide reading program. See Mrs. Brucher or Mrs. Sager if you have questions.

The Geneseo Library Writing Club is meeting this Tuesday at the Geneseo Library from 3:30-4:30. Third-grade students and up are welcome!

The Leafs put all of their hard work to the test on Saturday at the State Meet in Normal. The boys came away with a 3rd place trophy as a team! This is only the 3rd time we have won a trophy at the State meet in cross country - what an incredible accomplishment! A special congratulations to Henry Woodward, who finished 20th as an All-State runner! Henry is just the 6th individual from GMS to earn a medal at the State XC meet. We are very proud of all of our runners for an incredible season; we look forward to celebrating our season after school with our pizza party!

Hey Cross Country Runners!  Don’t forget about the End-of-the-Year Pizza Party today right after school in the cafeteria until 4:15!  Bring your uniform if you haven’t turned it in.

In honor of Principal’s Appreciation Week, this Thursday, we’re having a “Dress Like Your Principal” Day!  Show your school spirit by dressing up like Mr. O’Dell or Mr. Johnson.  That means grab your ties, vests, polos, coffee mugs, clipboards, or dress shoes—whatever helps you pull off your best principal look! Let’s see who can match their style the best. Remember, it’s all for fun—let’s make our principals proud (and maybe a little nervous) when they see a whole school full of mini Mr. O’Dells and Mr. Johnsons!
