It's that time of year when the sweet smell of gingerbread fills the air, and hearts are filled with holiday cheer! Let’s sweeten the season for children in our community with the GMS Toy Drive. From now until the end of this week, we’re collecting new, unwrapped toys to make sure every child has something special to open this Christmas. Drop your gifts off in the donation bin by the west doors, and let’s build a “gingerbread house” of generosity together! Your kindness will create sweet memories for kids this holiday season. Let’s bake up some joy and make this Christmas the best one yet!
The next GMS yearbook staff meeting is today after school until 4:30pm. Please plan to attend and let an advisor know if you will not be there.
This year’s spelling bee will take place on Thursday, December 18th in the Large Group Room beginning at 8:30 a.m. for any 8th grade student interested in competing. 8th grade students who choose to participate in the spelling bee are required to see Mrs. Plant or Mrs. Francque by December 12th to sign up and receive a practice study list. Only 8th grade students who have ‘pre-registered’ by December 12th may compete in the bee.
Do you have a knack for trivia? Love a little friendly competition? If so, please consider joining the GMS Scholastic Bowl team! There will be an informational meeting for any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student interested in Scholastic Bowl in Mrs. Francque’s classroom, Room 812, on Tuesday, December 9th at 7:40 a.m. If you are unable to attend but would like to be a part of the team, please see Mrs. Francque by December 12th.
