Attention Hoops Fans: Well, our 7As have experienced the thrill of victory...and the agony of defeat lately. On Saturday, at the Geneseo Shootout, our 7As were able to experience the thrill of victory! They started the day 2-0 and faced 2-0 Sterling in the third and final game of the day. It was a tight game throughout and Sterling tied the game with 9 seconds left but our Leafs, led by Myles Struve, was able to go coast to coast for the buzzer beating victory! Last night, vs. Washington, we were on the other side of the thrill, and felt the agony of defeat. The Washington 7th graders were undefeated and will be the conference champions, but our Leafs battled scoring 6 straight points in the final minute to tie the game up. But this game, it was the opponent who had the buzzer beating tip in leaving us with the agony of defeat. Our 8As had a very dramatic game of their own. They took on a very talented Washington team who beat us by about 25 in the first matchup earlier this year. Our Leafs showed how they've improved, gotten tough, and have trusted the process and took Washington down to the closing seconds. Our Leafs were down by 3 in the final seconds and had a chance to tie it up but the theme of the night was agony of defeat. Both 7As and 8As will look to bounce back tonight in their final home game of the season and go earn that thrill of victory! Go Leafs!
