Attention Hoops Fans: Last night our As had their final game of the season taking on the Glenview Gators. During this holiday season, our 7As put a nice bow on their terrific season with a 30-10 win, with every player on our team scoring a point. Our 7As faced some baby gators. The Glenview 7th grade team had an 0-13 record. Our 8As, however, faced some fully grown, swamp monster gators. The 8th grade Glenview team had a perfect 13-0 record on the season. Our Leafs, with many looking ghostly white and battling illness, fought hard, giving the Gators a tough battle before being chomped up by the Gators in the end. Our players want to thank all the staff and students who came out and supported the team throughout the season. They noticed you, and they appreciate you. Our boys hoopers also want to wish the best of luck to current wrestlers, upcoming girl hoopers, and the future spring track and field teams with their seasons. Go Leafs!
6th, 7th, and 8th grade band only students need to bring headphones, a pencil, and something to write on for class today.
The GMS Spelling Bee took place on 12/18 with a total of 6 participants: Kieran Efflandt, Tatum Eilselstein, Ella Johnson, Tommy Gaskey, Jack Sullivan and Cameron Doyle. After seven full rounds, Cameron Doyle took first place spelling the winning word, skewer. First runner up, Jack Sullivan. Congrats to Cameron as he moves on to the regional bee in the spring.
Happy Half Birthdays and Christmas Break Birthdays! For students whose birthdays fall during summer break, Birthday Club celebrates their half birthdays so no one misses out. Our club worked hard to decorate lockers and help make your day special—we hope you had a great day!
Today is Mrs. Wolfe’s last day at GMS, and we want to celebrate with her! Here’s a fun fact about Ms. Wolfe — she loves dancing! Her love of music and dancing go hand in hand, and the older she gets, the less she worries about what people think when she’s dancing her heart out. Make sure to dance with Mrs. Wolfe at the end of the day today and help us send her off in style! Let’s Celebrate!
