Families with preschool-aged children are encouraged to mark their calendars for the upcoming Ladders to Learning preschool screenings for the 2026-27 school year.
These screenings are an important first step in the admission process and help ensure each child receives the support they need for a successful preschool experience.
Screening Dates and Location
Screenings will be held at First Congregational Church, located at 319 South State Street in Geneseo, on the following dates:
Monday, March 2: 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday, March 3: 12:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, March 4: 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Appointment scheduling begins Monday, February 9. To schedule a screening, families should contact Angela Krause, Preschool Parent Coordinator, at 309-945-0614.
Children must be 3 years old by September 1 and not eligible for kindergarten to participate in the screening process.
About Ladders to Learning
Ladders to Learning is a half-day preschool program serving 3-, 4-, and 5-year-old children who are not yet eligible for kindergarten. The program follows the CUSD 228 school calendar and is designed to support children’s growth across developmental areas while preparing them for future academic success.
Program Schedule and Location
Classes are held Monday through Friday at Northside Elementary School with two session options:
AM Session: 7:45 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.
PM Session: 12:15 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Ladders to Learning is one of several Pre-K options in Geneseo and has earned recognition as a Circle of Quality program, reflecting its commitment to high-quality early childhood education.
