This week we will celebrate Kindness Week at GMS because kindness starts with us. Thursday is Be the Reason Someone Smiles. Kindness brings joy. Wear bright colors, tie-dye, or smiley faces. Neon Vibes=instant Mood Lift!
Congratulations to the following 8th grade House 2 February Students of the Month: Colton Crutcher, Reese Shannon and Kellan Knackstedt. These students are prepared, respectful, involved, dependable and enthusiastic and the 8th grade teachers appreciate their efforts. Keep up the great work!"
Attention Hoops Fans: Our 8Bs were here at home in the Machine Shed and this group is proving to be quite the cardiac kids! They've had several close games and last night was yet another. They were down early but stayed strong and fought back in the 2nd half behind a couple big three pointers but needed just one more as they lost by 2. On the road, our 7As moved into sole possession of 2nd place in the conference. They avenged an earlier season loss to John Deere with a dominating 21 point victory. That is a great indicator of improvement and growth mindset! In 8A action, our Lady Leafs moved one step closer...despite not playing their sharpest, our Leafs found a way to get the road dub. They are now closing in on back-to-back, undefeated, and conference champion seasons. Next up, our As will be home Thursday and our Bs hit the road Thursday. Hope to see you at the Machine Shed Thursday! Go Leafs!
Reminder: Chess Club meetings have moved to Wednesdays for the rest of February. Moving forward, meetings will be held for students who received a State Contender letter. We appreciate everyone’s effort and participation.
Attention all 7th and 8th grade students! Track and Field season is starting soon! If you are interested in joining the track and field teams, scan the QR code on one of the posters hanging in the hallways and in the locker rooms. You can also go to the “Coming Up” page on the GHS website and scroll down to an electronic version of the track poster to get the QR code to scan. Our informational meeting will be Wednesday, March 11th after school until 4:30 in the large gym. Practices will begin Monday, March 23rd. If you have any questions, you can ask any of the coaches: Mr. Ehlert, Mrs. Gillespie, Mr. Monier, Mrs. Henderson or Mr. Babcock.”
