Principal’s Message

GMS Teacher Appreciation Week is Monday, May 4th through Friday, May 8th, and we need your help! Would you like to do something nice for your child's teachers, but not sure what? Here’s two options: 1.) Sit down with your child and write out thank you notes for each of their teachers. Tell them how much you appreciate them and give a specific example of the impact they’ve made, then have your child hand deliver the notes. 2.) Help our GMS/GHS PTA by signing up to donate food or items for our teacher appreciation week May 4th - 8th. You can reach out to our PTA leadership if you would like to help plan the week at lminnaert87@gmail.com, or see the sign-up info that will be shared soon.

Can you believe it? In less than 2 months the 2025-26 school year will come to a close. 8th graders will soon be touring GHS, taking part in a Career Exploration Fair, and beginning that final transition into high school. 7th graders are shifting into one of the most important years of their education, with opportunities to lead their school in academics, athletics, arts and music, and to truly begin to stretch their potential as young adults. And 6th graders are entering the middle of Middle, where peers are the most important people in their young world, and where opportunities to join a sport or activity will develop new friendships and build grit.

Let’s make it a great final two months of school. Finish strong GMS!
