October 10:

The GMS Dance for 7th and 8th graders will be held on Friday, October 14th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Here are a few things you need to know before you attend:

  • The GMS dress code will apply. If you wouldn’t wear it to school, you probably shouldn’t wear it to the dance.  Check the GMS handbook for details.

  • All discipline time must be served.

  • All registration fees must be paid. Check with your parents about this.

  • Students need to arrive by 7:30 pm and stay until at least 8:45 pm

  • The admission cost is $5.00.  Pop is available for 50 cents.

The Geneseo Public Library Writing Club will meet tomorrow at 3:30 pm.  Stop at the office window for an information sheet.

Students will visit the Book Fair during their ELA classes today and tomorrow. We will also be open before school at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday thru Thursday. We will not be open during ASAP any days this week.

The next GMS yearbook staff meeting will be Tuesday, October 11th after school until 4:30pm.  Meet in the library.  If you cannot attend, be sure to let an advisor know.

Congratulations to the following 8th grade House 1 October S.T.R.I.P.E.S award winners:Brendan Cooksey, Delaney Lagaisse, Grace Carlson

These students display qualities of service, tenacity, respect, involvement, perseverance, enthusiasm, and spirit.  Your teachers appreciate your efforts to continuously carry out GMS's mission by displaying these qualities. Keep up the GRRREAT work!

Over the weekend the Leafs cross country team competed at Sectionals in Sterling. It was a beautiful day to run & with their season on the line, both girls & boys teams qualified for State this upcoming weekend!! The girls team finished 2nd place overall led by Sectional Champion, Brooklyn Smith, and 7th place finisher, Ayla Schultz. The boys also finished 2nd as a team! Medaling for the boys were Jack Kreiss (3rd) and Micah Nicke (6th). We are so proud of all of the runners & can’t wait to see how they do this weekend!
