November 28:

This year’s spelling bee will take place on Thursday, December 22 in the Large Group Room for any 8th grade student interested in competing. 8th grade students who choose to participate in the spelling bee are required to see Mrs. Plant or Mrs. Francque by December 19 to sign up. Only 8th grade students who have ‘pre-registered’ by December 19 may participate in the bee.

The Builders Club is starting its annual Food and Winter Wear Drive!  The Drive will begin Monday, November 28th and continue until Friday, December 16th. Please donate canned goods, as well as gently used coats, gloves, scarves, hats, or other items during homeroom. A gift card will be given to the homeroom in each grade level that collects the most items! Please see a Builders Club member or Mrs. Herlyn for more information.

Wrestling practice begins today after school.  Wrestlers should meet in the multi-purpose room after school today.

Attention NFL Pick Em: Because we have two weeks worth of papers to grade, we need two mornings to grade. If you are able, we will be grading Tuesday and Wednesday morning before school this week to help us get back on track. Thanks for your help.

At the end of October, 15 7th and 8th grade band students were invited to audition for the All-Illinois Junior Band, which is a very selective state-level band that requires a strict audition. Hundreds of middle school band students from Illinois auditioned for the AIJB band, which only accepts 82 students maximum.   This year, two students from Geneseo were selected based on their audition scores. Jacob Berry was selected as one of eight accepted trombones, and Tivya Bernier was selected as one of only two accepted oboes! They will travel to the University of Illinois in late January to participate in the 2 day event. Please congratulate them when you see them!
