December 1:

The Builders Club annual Food and Winter Wear  Drive will continue until Friday, December 16th. Please donate canned goods, as well as gently used coats, gloves, scarves, hats, or other items during homeroom. Gift cards will be given to the homerooms in each grade level that collect the most items!

Hey Hoops Fans. Last night the Hampton Hawks swooped in to take on our Maple Leafs. The 7th grade game was one of the more dramatic games of the year but we fell just short. The 8th graders put up a good fight as well but the Hawks were able to head back home with some extra leaves for their nest. Good luck to the A's as they head to Edison tonight to take on the Eagles.

Attention NFL Pick Em: Thank you Alex Balensiefen, Daegan Hansen, and JW Seals for their help with NFL Pick Em and all the other 6th graders who come in and help grade in the mornings. Our Week 11 winner was Ella Versluis scoring 111 points. Way to go, Ella! Mac Round was in 2nd place. For Week 12, Mr. Monier was the champ scoring 110 points. Sawyer Forsythe and Paisley Arnold tied for second with 106. Remember, the overall champ wins a free lunch of their choice. Right now, we have three teachers in the lead but Mr. Mo will still buy a lunch for the student, or team of students, who finish first. Right now, 4th through 7th place are all just 4 points from each other so it will be a tight race down the stretch. If you are ever wanting to double check your score, please see Mr. Mo. Picks are due by the end of the day. Good luck!

Congratulations to the following 8th grade House 2 December Students of the Month: Leah Falk, McKenzie Krug, and Eleanor Bertelson.  These students are prepared, respectful, involved, dependable and enthusiastic and the 8th grade teachers appreciate their efforts.  Keep up the great work!

Attention GMS: Stick with me here as this is a longer announcement, but also a very worthwhile announcement. Eric Dietrich was a former 7th grade boys basketball manager. His nickname was "Lil Bounce" for a variety of reasons. One was because he always had a bounce in his step. The summer after 7th grade Eric was taken from us far too soon. In the year after, in what would have been Eric's 8th grade year, the 8th grade shootout began being named the Eric Dietrich Memorial Shootout. This Saturday, December 3rd, is the 5th Eric Dietrich Memorial Shootout. Eric would have been a senior at GHS this year. Eric's parents host a fundraiser every year during this shootout. They raffle away some awesome prizes and gift baskets. All proceeds are donated to the Make a Wish Foundation in memory of Eric. This Saturday, sometime between 9:00-2:00, come support the Dietrichs and buy some raffle tickets and enter them into the drawing you most want to win. Towards the end of the day they will draw winners. You do not have to be present to win.  Some of the many prizes being raffled away include Apple AirPods, Nerf Guns, Minecraft Lego sets, Vera Bradley bags and blankets, gift cards, and much more! We hope you consider supporting this great cause.
