December 7:

Attention 7th and 8th grade students! Are you passionate about something and want to learn even more?  How would you like to learn about something that you choose?  Maybe you like to be creative, or even enjoy problem solving!  If any of these sound good to you, a Genius Hour will be offered 2nd semester and it may be for you!  To find out more, there will be an informational meeting in the Large Group Room with Mr. Eaker on Wednesday, December 7th during ASAP!

Help us bring smiles to children and teens this holiday season!  Please donate NEW, UNWRAPPED gifts  for ages 6 months and up, gift cards, sports equipment, cosmetics, etc.  A bin will be placed by the west doors at GMS. You can drop off a gift and place it in the bin From December 5- December 15th.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. Johnson in Room 601.

Hey Hoops Fans: What a night of basketball? Did you see #17 ranked Illinois beat #2 ranked Texas in overtime? That was a big win for the Fighting Illini! Speaking of overtime, our 8th grade B's hosted the school of Our Lady Crusaders. Our Maple Leafs battled tough and played an overtime game of their own. Our guys stayed cool and calm knocking down many free throws in overtime to come away with the victory. On the road, our 7 A's were playing the Jordan Jaguars. It was a close game throughout. Heading into the 4th quarter it was tied and with less than a minute left we were down by 2 but we couldn't pull it off and the Jaguars got the last roar hanging on for a 40-34 win. Our A's travel to Wilson tomorrow and on Saturday our 7's have their shootout at the GFAC. Good luck guys.

Attention Choir students, please bring a coat to choir. We are heading over to the high school concert hall today.

Have you purchased a GMS yearbook yet?  It's not too late, but time is running out.  First hour teachers have a list of students who have purchased a yearbook.  Be sure to check that list and pick up an order form if you need one.  Orders can also be placed online through Skyward.
