December 15:

Tomorrow is your last day to vote for your favorite gingerbread! Bring your donations with you to lunch on Friday and support both your homeroom and the Henry County Humane Society.

Any 8th grade student interested in competing in this year’s Spelling Bee should see Mrs. Plant or Mrs. Francque by Monday to sign up.

Have you purchased a GMS yearbook yet?  It's not too late, but time is running out.  Pick up an order form at the office window or purchase one online through your Skyward account.

Please check the lost and found currently located in the cafeteria by next Wednesday.  After that, Items will be donated to Goodwill.

Attention NFL Pick Em: It was a bit of a rough week for most of the league, but Faroh Finch is not most of the league. He is the Week 14 #1 Champ by scoring 109 points. Way to go, Faroh. In the season standings Mr. Monier is still in the lead with Mrs. Henderson and Mr. Verner in 2nd and 3rd, then we have Sawyer Forsythe and Madison Kuethe battling for the highest ranked student. Picks are due by the end of the day today. Good luck!

Last night the wrestling team traveled to Edison to take on the Eagles. The meet started well for the Leafs as Emmett Hill and William Davis gave the team six points. Then Edison came back till Cyrus Babcock took the mat and pinned his opponent. The leafs would then get pins from Kaden VanAntwerp, Colten Mooney and Josh Stahl but still lost with a score of 42 to 57.

Hey Hoops Fans: Last night our B team traveled to take on the Bureau Valley Storm in their final game of the year. With the Storm weather in the forecast yesterday with all the rain we've been having, the Storm fed off that energy and blew our Maple Leafs right back home. Tonight, our A's have their final game at home vs. Glenview. Good luck guys.

The next GMS yearbook staff meeting is Tuesday, December 20th, after school until 4:30pm.  Please plan to attend and let an advisor know if you will not be there.

Tomorrow is the final day to bring in donations for the Builders Club Winter Drive. As of Wednesday afternoon, Mrs. Herlyn's homeroom is in the lead for sixth grade with 306 items. Mr. Wolfe's homeroom is in second place with 234 items. It's a tight competition in seventh grade. Currently, both Mrs. Schmidt and Mrs. VanOpdorp's homerooms are tied at 98 items each. For eighth grade, Mrs. Strohm's homeroom is in the lead with 108 items. Mrs. Plant's homeroom is close behind with 75 items. REMINDER for Builders Club Members: there will not be a meeting tomorrow, Friday, December 16th. Our next meeting will convene after Christmas break on Friday, January 13th.

Don't forget to wear your most hideous sweater tomorrow because Friday is National Ugly Sweater Day.
