January 24:

The next GMS yearbook staff meeting will be today after school until 4:30pm.  Please try to attend and let an advisor know if you won't be there!

The last day to order a GMS Yearbook is this Friday. Pick up an order form from the front office, or order online through your Skyward account.

If you would like to join the GMS Agriculture Club, come to Mrs. VanOpdorp’s room #709 on Wednesday mornings at 7:40 am

Attention 8th grade students:

The GHS Counselors will be here on Thursday, January 26 during 3rd hour to talk with you about choosing high school classes. You will be split up by your last name. If your last name is A-G you will go to the cafeteria.  If your last name is H-P you will go to the small gym.  If your last name is Q-Z you will go to the large gym.  If you have any questions, please ask Mrs. Feely or Mrs. Reed

Attention all students: You may have noticed the challenge board in the cafeteria with five new challenges posted each week. Starting this week, you may turn in completed challenges into the marked box under the bulletin board for a chance to win a prize. A winner from each grade level will be chosen each week and given their choice of a prize. Prizes include a free cookie at lunch, an extra ASAP homework pass, a coupon to go to the front of the lunch line, free admission to a GMS sporting event and more. Grab a challenge (or 2 or 3) during study hall, lunch or while passing through the cafeteria and turn it back in by Friday each week to be eligible. But remember that we do not have school on Friday this week. Winners will be announced each Monday morning. Good luck!

The 6th grade newspaper will meet on Wednesday morning in Ms. Bonham’s room #607. We will talk about the quarter 3 newspaper and survey results. See you then!

The High School Tip Off Club along with the Maplettes and the Cheerleaders are holding their Autograph night at the High School on Friday.  The Boys Basketball team will be playing the Alleman Pioneers (F/S at 5:30, Varsity at 7). We are looking to Pack the Place and the theme is White Out (wear white)!  After the game the Cheer Team, Maplettes and Basketball players will be autographing their team posters.  Come cheer on the teams! Members of any youth boy’s basketball player (travel, rec, or middle school ) will receive free admission to the game.

The B teams kicked off the start of their season with a home game versus Hampton last night. Despite a strong comeback effort by the 7th graders and a valiant effort by the 8th grade team, both teams suffered their first loss of the season. The 7th grade team looks to bounce back against Eagle Ridge on Wednesday.

Hey hoops fans! 7th and 8th grade A teams traveled to Riverdale last night. Didn’t get the W but made lots of improvements. The A teams are at home tonight against Edison. Come out and cheer them on!
