Honoring our school social workers

Geneseo Community Unit School District #228, in conjunction with the School Social Work Association of America, is proud to promote National School Social Work Week, held this year from March 5-11.

Geneseo’s school social workers—pictured above, from left to right—are Samantha Mathew and Jill Woulf in the front, and Korie Norberg, Denise Ford, Melanie Rice, Stacey Morrell and Janna Richards in the back.

The theme for National School Social Work Week 2023 is “We Rise.” Our school social workers rise up by supporting their students, families, and school communities. School social workers rise to share hope. They rise to listen and understand. They rise to challenge inequities. They rise to support all students.

Please join us in recognizing and celebrating our school social workers who provide essential support to our students and families. We are grateful for their hard work and dedication and would like to extend our thanks to them for their contributions to our school community.
