GHS searching for new girls' wrestling head coach

Geneseo High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated leader to become the next head coach of its girls' wrestling program.

The new head coach will replace Carley Rusk, who led the program in its first four years and has since been named the first women's wrestling coach at St. Ambrose University.

Since being established in 2022, Geneseo’s girls’ wrestling team has built a strong winning foundation on both the team and individual levels. The team boasts an impressive resume that includes three consecutive regional championships and a sectional title. Individually, the program's successful culture has already produced 12 state qualifiers and two state medalists, positioning the team well for continued growth.

The incoming head coach will have access to championship-caliber facilities, including a dedicated wrestling room and gym located at the high school. Student-athletes also utilize the Geneseo Foundation Activity Facility (GFAC), a 40,000-square-foot fieldhouse equipped with a weight room and supported by a full-time strength and conditioning coach.

Candidates looking to make a positive impact both on and off the mat are encouraged to apply now by visiting GeneseoSchools.org's employment page. For more information, interested applicants can contact GHS Athletic Director Joe Nichols by emailing jnichols@geneseoschools.org or calling 309-945-0300.
