Geneseo Community Unit School District #228 will welcome students and their families to its annual back-to-school open houses on Monday, August 10.
The evening will provide an opportunity for parents, guardians and students to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and prepare for the start of the new school year.
Open house times for each building are as follows:
Northside Elementary: 4-6 p.m.
Millikin Elementary: 4-6 p.m.
Southwest Elementary: 4-6 p.m.
Geneseo Middle School: 5-7 p.m.
Geneseo High School: 6-8 p.m.
The open houses give families a chance to become familiar with their schools, connect with staff, and learn more about the year ahead before students return to the classroom on August 12.
In addition to the open houses on August 10, Northside Elementary will host an open house for pre-kindergarten students and their families on Monday, August 17. There will be two sessions: Morning preschool students and their families are invited to attend between 5-6 p.m. and afternoon preschool students are welcome from 6-7 p.m.
"Our open houses are a wonderful opportunity to welcome families back into our schools and strengthen the connections that make our district such a special place," said Geneseo Superintendent Dr. Laura Delgado. "We look forward to opening our doors, introducing students and families to their teachers, and sharing our excitement for a new school year filled with learning, growth and opportunities for every student."
GREEN MACHINE FOOTBALL T-SHIRTS
Are you ready for some football? The annual Green Machine t-shirts will be on sale at each school’s back-to-school night on Monday, August 10.
Shirts will be available in youth and adult sizes for $15 each (cash or checks made out to Geneseo High School or Geneseo CUSD 228), and will also be sold at the Green-White game (August 14) and first few home games, while supplies last.
