These third graders explored how the magnetic field was affected when more magnets were added.

8th grade science students simulated Rutherford’s Gold Foil Experiment today, working to understand size and density of a nucleus compared to an atom.

These 5th grade students are playing a game of Yahtzee. It requires mental math, decision making skills, and strategic planning to score the most points. Of course, getting a Yahtzee is a bonus because it adds 50 points to your score.

Preschool students enjoying their hands on learning activities. Creativity is in full force with our young learners.

Guided reading groups making great progress. We love watching our students grow!

8th grade students at GMS met with Mr. Mackey, GHS Vocational Director, today to learn about our Geneseo Alumni Career Connections Program. 1st grade is such a big year when it comes to learning how to read. These students are participating in different activities to learn the "ch" sound. Keep up the hard work 1st graders!

Millikin 5th graders did a great job writing persuasive essays about the importance and purpose of different charities and raised money to go toward the winning essays. We are proud of all our students and staff for making a positive impact on others!

In their first week of 7th grade Art, students in Mr. Hamilton’s classes explore modules to see if they can beat the challenge with the resources available. Can they build a structure that all in the group can stand up in?

Very proud of our two Elks Teen of the Month winners. Addison Smith and Eric Vergane were chosen by our GHS staff for their outstanding contributions in the classroom and community.

As we welcome back students in anticipation of a great 2023, we want to remind our families of some important dates on our calendar in January. There will be a 1-hour early release this Friday, January 13. Also, there is no school on Monday, January 16 or Friday, January 27.

1st Grade students celebrating the new year a brain break and a day full of special activities.

GMS welcomed back 650 amazing 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and teachers to the start an exciting 2023 with an all school assembly this morning. We sang our fight song, recognized LEAFS and Grit Award winners from Semester 1, reset expectations for academics, sportsmanship, and behavior, and walked away with new energy after a great winter break. #FocusOnWhat’sRight for Semester 2!

Geneseo Middle School hosts our annual Junior Level Wrestling Tournament at the GHS Gym today. 12 teams, 200 wrestlers, and about 1000 spectators supported some incredible wrestling matches. From 65 pounders up to heavy weights, it’s been a phenomenal day!

Happy New Year! As we begin 2023, we wish for peace, love and laughter each and every day.

He's a long way from his native Spain, but Geneseo Middle School's Javier Reyes feels right at home in Geneseo.
“I think it’s great that students can experience different perspectives and learn about different cultures,” he says.
