
It’s an exciting day at GMS for 8th graders. They are meeting with GHS Counselors to begin Freshman Course Scheduling, and learn about what it means to be a high school student. It’s right around the corner 8th graders, get ready!
Freshman Course Scheduling selections are due February 8th to the GMS Counseling Office.





These artistic 1st graders are using celery to make rose prints. Very creative!





Students from the GHS Robotics team presented to 5th grade students last week. The GHS students did a tremendous job and our 5th graders asked some great questions.

These third graders explored how the magnetic field was affected when more magnets were added.





8th grade science students simulated Rutherford’s Gold Foil Experiment today, working to understand size and density of a nucleus compared to an atom.




These 5th grade students are playing a game of Yahtzee. It requires mental math, decision making skills, and strategic planning to score the most points. Of course, getting a Yahtzee is a bonus because it adds 50 points to your score.

8th grade students at GMS met with Mr. Mackey, GHS Vocational Director, today to learn about our Geneseo Alumni Career Connections Program. This program is on the Geneseo Schools website under Community Resources. Middle Schoolers are starting to take their first steps in the path of college and career readiness, with the goal of exploration and making connections.

Tables for the FFA and Ag Alumni’s Trivia Night on Saturday, February 18 are on sale now.
The event, which is the group’s largest fundraiser of the year, will be held at St. Malachy’s Hall with doors opening at 5:30 pm and trivia beginning at 6:00 pm.

1st grade is such a big year when it comes to learning how to read. These students are participating in different activities to learn the "ch" sound. Keep up the hard work 1st graders!





Millikin 5th graders did a great job writing persuasive essays about the importance and purpose of different charities and raised money to go toward the winning essays. We are proud of all our students and staff for making a positive impact on others!


In their first week of 7th grade Art, students in Mr. Hamilton’s classes explore modules to see if they can beat the challenge with the resources available. Can they build a structure that all in the group can stand up in?




Very proud of our two Elks Teen of the Month winners. Addison Smith and Eric Vergane were chosen by our GHS staff for their outstanding contributions in the classroom and community.


As we welcome back students in anticipation of a great 2023, we want to remind our families of some important dates on our calendar in January. There will be a 1-hour early release this Friday, January 13. Also, there is no school on Monday, January 16 or Friday, January 27.

GMS welcomed back 650 amazing 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and teachers to the start an exciting 2023 with an all school assembly this morning. We sang our fight song, recognized LEAFS and Grit Award winners from Semester 1, reset expectations for academics, sportsmanship, and behavior, and walked away with new energy after a great winter break. #FocusOnWhat’sRight for Semester 2!
