A phenomenal debate took place in 7th grade ELA classes this week, where Mrs. Haars' and Mrs. Schmidt's classes combined to engage in Socratic Seminars on 4 different historical disasters. Students researched a historical disaster like Titanic, then used evidence to prepare and defend an argument for causes, who's at fault, and avoiding a disaster. Students then assessed themselves and their peers on meeting a variety of standards-based learning targets in reading, writing and speaking and listening.
