The Geneseo school district is joining the Illinois Principals Association in celebrating Principal Appreciation Week from October 18-24, and Principal Appreciation Day on Friday, October 23.
Geneseo’s principals include Joe Mowen (Northside Elementary), Philip Moe (Millikin Elementary), Brian Hofer (Southwest Elementary), Tom Ryerson (Geneseo High School), and Nathan O’Dell (Geneseo Middle School), while Sara Bertelsen (GHS), Jeremy Mosier (GHS), and Melanie Henderson (GMS) serve as assistant principals.

Fall Girls Middle School Summit: This fall, we’re giving our middle school girls another opportunity to get into the GFAC, build confidence, learn how to train, and make their best, better!
The Summit isn’t about turning middle schoolers into advanced lifters. It’s about giving them the foundation they need before high school. Most importantly, we give them a safe environment to learn, make mistakes, build confidence, and have fun along the way!

From Volleyball's Green White game finale, to an amazing Khan Academy Math rewards day, GMS students are locked in this week!
The GMS Fall Book Fair is now OPEN! Students will have time in ELA classes this week to search the stacks and purchase books. The Book Fair will also be open during study halls, and for families during Parent Teacher Conferences this Thursday and Friday.
Get ready for some Halloween fun at Geneseo Middle School’s Trunk or Treat on October 25 from 2-4 p.m. in the west parking lot! Hosted by Geneseo Elementary School’s PTA, this free, rain-or-shine event welcomes students, families, and the entire community for an afternoon of costumes, candy, and spooky fun.

The Machine Shed was hoppin, rockin, and slayin it on Friday night with our GMS student enjoying every moment. 7th and 8th graders packed the place for their highly anticipated Fall dance!
The Maple Leaf Marching Band Classic kicked off today at 3pm with our very own 7th and 8th grade TSOGMS! Stop by the GHS stadium any time, now through 8pm, to watch the best bands in the area compete for Marching Band glory. TSOG performs 7pm, with St. Ambrose shortly after.
Mrs. Hull’s Life Skills class at Northside Elementary is taking learning beyond the classroom!
This year, students began Community Based Instruction, providing opportunities to practice important skills in real-world settings. Recently, the class took their first trip to Fareway to learn about the grocery store and shop for items needed in the classroom.
Students also join Mrs. Furlong’s middle school Life Skills class once a month for cooking activities and lessons focused on friendship.
We’re proud of the independence, confidence, and life skills our students are building through these meaningful experiences!

GMS Girls Softball placed 4th in State today, after an undefeated season and amazing post season run. Thanks to all the coaches, parents, softball community, and athletes for making this season special!

GMS Softball Lady Leafs are playing in the IESA 3A State Semifinals in Normal IL. They are on the hunt for a state championship and an undefeated season starting at 11:30am today. Bring it home girls!

Whoop whoop, GMS Girls Softball took down Effingham in a Quarterfinal duel that puts them in the IESA State Semifinals on Saturday, Sept 19th. Good luck Lady Leafs, we're with you and cheering on your run to a state championship!
GMS Girls are rollin this week, with IESA State for golf and softball the next few days. Softball took home a Sectional Championship Tuesday, they now play Fri & Sat at state in Normal. Avery W and Hadley A are heading to Metamora tomorrow to hunt for a place in golf's top 10.
From Medieval Times to some Volleyball good times, GMS is on a role this week. 6th grade kicked off their annual Medieval Times fundraiser this morning with a visit from King Puls, and Volleyball Whites won both 7th and 8th grade in 3 games each against a tough Riverdale team.
We can now say it... GMS Girls Softball are IESA REGIONAL CHAMPS! The Lady Leafs traveled to Canton, IL to take on Dunlap in a pitching and small ball battle, winning 5-3 in the top of the 7th. Congratulations Ladies! Next stop, Sectional Championship in East Peoria on Tuesday.
